The creative process - bedside view

I am currently working on a new painting and just wanted to post a picture of the creative process so far. It is messy but it feels good.

Old Model - Back to the Roots Part V

It's been a while since I last posted anything related to the Space Wolf I am painting at the moment. I really haven't had the time or the mood to sit down and paint lately - but I have made some progress on the model. I finished the basis armour (except the backpack) and the shoulders. I have begun on the leather things but only just given them a basecoat. I probably won't be able to get anything done on the model this christmas so I will be back painting in the new year.

Old Model - Back to the Roots Part IV

The legs, helmet and right arm are now highlighted and I painted most of the metal parts black. I also started on the eyes of the helmet, but these were not as I wanted them so I will have to repaint them later. It takes a while with the armour and I just remembered that I really hate to paint space marine armours.

Old Model - Back to the Roots Part III

Got the paint today and started on the base colour for the armour with a coat of Shadow Grey. It still needs a few layers here and there, but it starts to look great. When the entire armour is covered I will have to highlight each part and I think it might be best just to take one part at a time (like one leg, the helmet, the chestplate aso.)
The highlighting is going to take a while and I might have to do the snowpatch again - the feets are really deep into the snow, and I'm sure that I will get blue/grey paint all over the white snow - doh!

Looking forward to post pictures on the highlight process.

Old Model - Back to the Roots Part II

I got the base of the model inked and drybrushed today and finished the snow on the model. I then figured that I had to start on the "deepest" parts of the model, like the small gaps between the armor and the gunholes in the helmet. I painted these black, as well as the axe and then realised that I didn't have any paint for the actual armor. I'll have to go shopping tomorrow for that, and the colour for his hair.
So far it's going pretty good but it still needs a lot of work before it's done.

Old model - back to the roots

I have been wanting to go back to paint Warhammer models for a long time and I finally found this old model I got a loooong time ago. The axe and a string on his chest was missing (because of a mis-cast I think?) but I fixed it yesterday with some GreenStuff.
The base was basepainted yesterday and it still needs some layers before I can continue inking and drybrush.

I hope to post pictures on the progress over the next few months.
